Who Are The Marshals?:

Racing Marshals are those orange suited people you can see on the corners at the race track.

They are motor racing's biggest fans. They turn up early each day and spend the full day at the side of the race track. Not only do they get the best seat in the house for watching the racing, but they also play their part and get involved in the sport. Marshals perform a number of tasks during the day:

Flags are used to communicate with the drivers. They assist in the recovery of retired cars at the end of races. They help move cars to safe spots when they retire during races. And very importantly they are the first response to any accidents that may occur (providing fire cover, checking drivers are OK, clearing debris, etc.). They are the closest people to the action, working as part of a team and relaying important information to Race Control.
